EuroComment's Briefing Notes
The backbone of the series consists of notes on every meeting of the European Council, the EU’s highest authority and the core of its system of government. Based on unpublished documents and confidential interviews as well as a large range of published materials, the notes on the European Council provide a unique and authoritative insight into decision-making at the top of the EU. The remaining notes in each volume include two on the incoming six month presidencies, another on the State of the Union, and the rest on issues of current importance, including in the present year a wide-ranging discussion of the present state and future direction of the EU’s burgeoning relationship with China.
Written in the first instance for insiders, many of whom subscribe to the series, EuroComment’s Briefing Notes are also of interest and use to anybody who wants to know how and why the EU arrives at its decisions and what the latter may mean for the future of Europe and the world.
