About the author and editor

Dr Kerry Brown is Associate Fellow on the Asia Programme, Chatham House, associate of the China Policy Institute, Nottingham University, and Visiting Fellow, East Asia Studies Centre, London School of Economics. He is fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and Director of Strategic China Ltd.

Jonathan Fenby is former Editor of The Observer and the Reuters World Service. He has also worked for The Independent, The Economist, The Guardian and the South China Morning Post.
